The Violence Prevention Strategies Certificate Program was designed by practitioners in the field over the past decade, if not longer. This program engages students from a wide range of backgrounds in community change, systems navigation, political education and leadership development.

Other components include (but are not limited too):
Self-Care & Sustainability in the Movement for Nonviolence
Co-Counseling, Healing and Vicarious Trauma

Healing through Activism

BUILDING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

We include the exploration of leadership and intervention issues and skills relative to the field of violence prevention. Students are engaged in the classroom and field based learning through peer group and individual projects, community based action research, and internships; curriculum contextualized to student career goals.

This program is designed for college ready individuals who are interested in working in the field of violence prevention; can successfully complete  two 3 unit courses in addition to 2-4 units of internship and/or employment experience in the field.
